The Dambulla Cave Temple – The Largest Temple Complex In Sri Lanka - The most popular among the best places to visit in Sri Lanka is the Dambulla cave temple. The temple complex has five rooms of different sizes; all rooms have Buddha in a different position looking calm and peaceful. Day 1 - Dambulla
Begin the journey with one of the wonders of the ancient world -the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. It is also a UNESCO world Heritage site. You will probably spend almost 2 hours in the castle by witnessing water garden ,the boulder garden ,The Terrace garden ,audience hall ,Cobra Hood cave ,Famous frescos ,the mirror wall and graffiti, the terrace of lion stair case ,the summit and you will also get to know some amazing fact and story about rock fortress then you will drive to Dambulla to visit cave temple. It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple compound in Sri Lanka. There are above 80 chronicle caves around this location. The most prominent allures are advanced over 5 caves, which contain statues and paintings. Here you will witness 153 Buddha statues, 3 statues of Sri Lankan kings and 4 statues of gods and goddesses. Day 2 - Trincomalee
Trincomalee is a port city on the east coast of Sri Lanka. The city is built on a peninsula, which divides the inner and outer harbours. It is one of the main centers of Tamil speaking culture on the island. The Bay of Trincomalee's harbour is renowned for its large size and security; unlike every other in the Indian Sea, it is accessible to all types of craft in all weathers. The beaches are used for surfing, scuba diving, fishing and whale watching. Trincomalee is also famous for its temples and Dutch fort. Trincomalee also known as Gokanna, is the administrative headquarters of the Trincomalee District and major resort port city of Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. Trincomalee Harbour is a seaport in Trincomalee Bay or Koddiyar Bay, a large natural harbour situated on the north-east cost of Sri Lanka. Koneswaram temple is a classical-medieval Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in Trincomalee, Eastern Sri Lanka. "
Day 3 - Kandy
Lying amidst the hills, Kandy is the last capital of the ancient kings of Sri Lanka. While being the second largest city in Sri Lanka it is also famous for its immense beauty and is named as one of the seven UNESCO declared World Heritage sites in the country. With its luxuriant prairie, picturesque lake, Longest River of the country and misty mountains, Kandy successfully mesmerizes every visitor unsurprisingly. Heavily jeweled with a rich and colorful history is witnessed through the numerous shrines and temples as well as frescoes, ancient paintings and stone carvings. Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Kandy lake Kandy Lake, also known as Kiri Muhuda or the Sea of Milk, is an artificial lake in the heart of the hill city of Kandy, Sri Lanka, built in 1807 by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe next to the Temple of the Tooth. Over the years, it was reduced in size. Visit Kandy market place, Kandy view point & Kandy City Centre which is a ten storey commercial and retail complex located in Kandy, Sri Lanka near the Temple of Tooth Relic. Construction of the centre was started in 1993 and it was opened in 2005.
Day 4 - Nuwara Eliya
Nuwara Eliya (City of Lights), blessed with salubrious climate, breathtaking views of valleys, meadows, mountains and greenery; Surrounded by hills and tea plantations, the town of Nuwara Eliya enjoys spring-like weather throughout the year. It is also known as "'Little England" which was the favorite hill station of the British who tried to create Nuwara Eliya into a typical English Village. The old brick Post office, country house like hill club with its hunting pictures, trophies and strict formal dinner attire; the 18 hole golf course, horse race course, etc., all remind you of 'England". Today we have opportunity to visit Haggala Botanical Gardens (Ashok Vatika). The garden has a cool temperate climate because of its altitude of 5,400 feet above the sea level. The Hakgala gardens were established for cultivation of the medicinal crop Cinchona. Afterwards it was used for Tea cultivation. In 1884 it was changed into a garden with many subtropical and tropical plants. The legendary Indian folktale “Ramayana” states that Sita, the wife of Rama, was abducted and imprisoned in this area by the Demon King Ravana. The Hakgala Garden was supposed to have been a pleasure garden gifted to Sita by the Demon King in an attempt to lessen her sorrow and at the time it is supposed to have been called Ashok Vatika.
Day 5 - Nuwara Eliya
Ella is a small mountain village near Bandarawela and boasts three locations linked to the Ramayana where local legend claims Ravana was hiding Sita. First there is the Ravana Ella Cave, located at the massive Ella Falls; a breathtaking 1080 feet high waterfall that cascades into several falls. The rocky undergoes of the waterfall is Khondalite, a kind of limestone which undergoes faster decay as hard gneiss or granite. This has resulted in many caves being formed near the falls. King Ravana is said to have lived in one of the caves above the waterfall. A nearby pool bored out of the rock by the gushing waters is where Sita is said to have bathed Ravana. Once you arrived in Ella you will trek along mountain passing waterways, paddy field arrive in summit to see the Ella gap. After your journey you will be drop to Hotel safely.
Day 6 - Colombo
Today after breakfast we set out for our final destination of the itinerary “Colombo”. On arrival in Colombo we proceed for a short city tour which gives us opportunity to see Viharamahadevi Park. It’s a public park located in Colombo, next to the National Museum in Sri Lanka. It is the oldest and largest park of the Port of Colombo Independence square, The Arcade Independence Square is a shopping complex housed in a group of renovated buildings including the former Jawatta Lunatic Asylum and the former Western Provincial Council Building. Shopping at ODEL BMICH, The Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, is a convention center located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Shopping at house of fashion. Gangarama Temple is one of the most important temples in Colombo, Sri Lanka, being a mix of modern architecture and cultural essence. Galle face The Galle Face is a 5 ha ocean-side urban park, which stretches for 500 m along the coast, in the heart of the financial and business capital of Sri Lanka, Colombo. Old parliament The Old Parliament Building is the building that houses the Presidential Secretariat of Sri Lanka. Situated in the Colombo fort facing the sea, it is in close proximity to the President's House, Colombo.
Day 7 - Colombo
Enjoy your last morning in Colombo before checking out and being transferred to the airport, where you will depart for your destination with bags full of souvenirs and happy memories.
